What is RightPlace?

A website for independent restaurants and bars and the people looking for them. Your team gets a waitlist and host stand, a kitchen screen and a TV page for the door. You also get deals you post from the stand and a report of each night. Guests find you by the kind of night they want, see the wait you posted, and tell you they are on the way.

Is there hardware to buy?

No hardware required. RightPlace runs in the web browser on phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs, with nothing to download from an app store. We do suggest keeping a couple of spare devices charged at your spot, in case a server’s phone dies, and letting staff use their own devices if they’d like. Already on Toast? RightPlace runs in the web browser on Toast Flex register and kitchen screens too.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Walk-ins and phone calls go on the list with no account at all. Guests who find you on RightPlace use it in their browser, and signing in is optional.

Does RightPlace take payment?

No, never. Guests never pay RightPlace; they pay for their meal at the table like always, on your own register. RightPlace doesn't store anything about payment.

Does it work with my register (POS)?

Yes. On Clover, servers order from the table on RightPlace and each ticket lands on the table's open Clover check and prints in the kitchen, so nothing is entered twice. On other registers, servers keep ordering on the register and your sales report fills Numbers (Toast and Square can be connected to read it by themselves; each spot connects it from Manager, with our help by text or phone). Any register works beside RightPlace for the door, the line, deals and the kitchen pass, and can email its sales report in. You can import your menu from a Toast, Square or Clover export so the names match your register's buttons.

How do guests know their table is ready?

Tap Table ready at the host stand. A guest with a RightPlace account sees a banner on their RightPlace page right away, and gets a phone notification if they allowed them. A guest without an account can be called from the number you took.

How do I get my spot on RightPlace?

Tap “Grow my business” and set up your spot yourself. Stuck on a step? Text or call us and we will help you over the phone. Within about 15 miles of Stow? For now we can sometimes come help in person. The calendar is filling up fast.

How do hosts sign in?

The host stand, kitchen and servers use your spot's 6-digit code. Managers also need a 4-digit PIN. If a tablet goes missing, change the code and every screen signed in with the old one stops working.

Where does RightPlace work?

We start with independent restaurants and bars in Akron and across Summit County, Ohio, and next door in Kent (Portage County). Each town we cover has its own page.

Does it say the wait is live?

No. Your host posts the wait with one tap, and guests see when it was last updated. We don't guess the wait for you.

What do the reports count?

Only what happened in RightPlace: taps, arrivals, seatings, tickets and times. Dollar figures show only if you enter your own average check, and they are labeled as estimates.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The demo site has a made-up restaurant with a busy night going. Every host screen opens with no code: host stand, kitchen and manager.

What if something breaks on a busy night?

Once your spot is on RightPlace, we watch it around the clock. If a screen stops loading, an order doesn't go through or a page gets slow for anyone, we're told within a couple of minutes, and work on the fix usually starts within minutes of that. If it touched your spot, we tell you what happened and what we changed. Keep a spare device charged too, so your team can carry on in the meantime.
